Dane axe for historical reconstruction.
Ready for battle, which means he's blunt. The Dane axe is clearly associated with the Vikings, chin-length axes were used to split enemy shield lines. So if you're a fighter and need a weapon that can defeat an opponent from a distance, this weapon is for you.
Axe made of steel.
Hhardened, prepared for fighting in the reconstruction of the early Middle Ages, or for LARP skirmishes. According to Petersen's typology, it is a large hatchet with the designation M2.
How long should a Dane axe be?
Only 2 sources mention Dane axes. It is also assumed that the axes were about 120 cm long, and exceptionally long up to 150 cm. However, taking into account the specificity of reenactment combat and the fact that today's warriors are much taller than in the early Middle Ages, we can assume that the appropriate length is up to the chin and no more. How would you look like a Viking with a fishing rod in the line?
